New Tasting Menu at Hukilau Lanai

Hukilau Lanai has made some changes to their dynamite tasting menu. It’s also a great deal. From 5 to 5:45 p.m., five courses of fine dining for only $32. If you add wine, it’s $50.00. A gluten-free menu is also available, so ask the server when you order. Reservations are required, to make them visit the Hukilau Lanai Kauai website. Niihau Lamb Sausage has replaced the house-made longanisa and the popular candied ahi has made its way to the regular menu. Here’s a look at the new tasting menu:

  • Island Gazpacho with Koloa Rum Pineapple Basil Sorbet ~St. Gabriel Riesling Spätlese, Mosel, Germany
  • Kauai Vegetable Tart: A flaky pastry filled with roasted vegetables, accompanied by tomato bacon jam and micro greens ~ Carpineto Rosato of Sangiovese, Toscana, Italy
  • Fresh Catch: Grilled Hawaiian caught fish served on sesame rice with miso vinaigrette and marinated local vegetables ~ Wolfberger Pinot Blanc, Alsace, France
  • Niihau Lamb: Braised leg of lamb with house-made pasta ~ Sierra Cantabria Tempranillo, Rioja, Spain

Choice of dessert:

  • Artisan Cheese Duo: two cheeses served with house made baguette and accompaniments ~ Tonight’s Cheese and Wine Pairing
  • Big Island Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée: Local vanilla bean custard, caramelized sugar ~ Quady ‘Essencia’ Orange Muscat, Madera, CA
