lecole-white-wineWe love to host wine dinners with fabulous restaurants on the Southside of Kauai. On Monday, January 27, we will partner with La Spezia in Koloa for an L’Ecole Nº 41 Wine Dinner. L’Ecole Nº 41 is known for producing reliable, superior quality wines that are crafted for richness and complexity, vintage after vintage.
We will start the evening with Alsatian caramelized onion tart served with radish salad, mint and lemon vinaigrette. It will be paired with Semillon, which is the perfect wine to start the evening with. Brilliant and vibrant fruit with a balance of citrus key lime and apricot make this wine a winner.
The next course is crispy duck confit served with flageolet, kale and a tomato-garlic sauce. Perigee 7 Hills Bordeaux blend will be served with this course. This particular blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petite Verdot comprise this flagship wine. Cedar and black cherry are among the variety of flavors.
The third course features grilled hanger steak with anchovy butter, served with scalloped potatoes, olives and asparagus. Two delicious Cabernet Sauvignons accompany this course. The first is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Columbia Valley. It has layers of integrated flavors such as coffee, dark fruit and earth. The second is a Cabernet Sauvignon from Walla Walla. The old world structure of this sophisticated Cabernet Sauvignon show hints of dark fruit earth and baking spice with the back palate of sweet tobacco and currants.
We will finish the evening with a dark chocolate tart with port wine and blackberries. This will be paired with a beautiful Syrah.
The dinner is $80 all-inclusive. Please contact 808-742-8824 to secure your reservation.
Aloha,
Dano and Ellen O’Connell
