Edible Hawaiian Islands (eHI)  announces the official declaration of Edible Hawaiian Islands Farm Day, as proclaimed by Governor David Ige. Officially cited for May 23, 2015, residents and visitors of Hawaii are invited to jump on the proverbial “farm wagon” by visiting a farm and tagging any and all social media posts with the hashtag #eHIFarmDay15,  thereby creating a collective space where our favorite Hawaii farmers can be identified, recognized and supported.

Lisa Fuller and her husband Sun operate a bio-intensive farm called Kimu Aina and market organic produce under the name One Song Farm. The couple share 35-years of experience when it comes to growing organic food in the Islands. I will always remember my first interview with them.

Koloa Rum Expands Partnership with Young’s Market Company

Scenic-All_5-2 sm res cropKoloa Rum Company announced that the company’s full portfolio of artisanal, single-batch Hawaiian rum will be distributed by Young’s Market Company throughout the Hawaiian Islands beginning May 11, 2015. Koloa Rum Company’s partnership with Young’s Market Company in Hawaii is the next phase in an expanded agreement naming Young’s as the brand’s exclusive distributor in ten U.S. markets.

Currently, Young’s distributes Koloa Rum products in California and Arizona. Within the next few months, Young’s will launch the authentic Hawaiian rum in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, and Wyoming.

Westin Kauai Princeville’s Charity Golf Tournament

The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villa’s ongoing commitment to Kauai charitable organizations has generated well over $300,000 in the past 7 years. Their Charity Golf Tournament continues to support Kauai community organizations such as the Kauai Visitors Industry Charity Walk, American Cancer Society “Relay for Life” associate scholarships and various other Kauai based charitable organizations.

Catering Equipment Sale

Pick up professional cooking equipment on Saturday, May 9th. There will be a lot of very nice things that must go, plus a lot of catering equipment, kitchen stuff, etc. Some things are very hard to get here and prices are reasonable. The sale begins at 9AM at 4691 Kapaka St. First house on the left right across the highway from Church of the Pacific. Turn left and come down the road, along the lava walls.
