Tasting Kauai is the only company on the Garden Island offering food tours. With the cooperation of the businesses listed below, we have created a one-of-a-kind tour that can not be experienced by visiting these places individually. Each tour includes a farm tour, four-course lunch, cooking demonstration, and two cocktails made with local ingredients. Tasting Kauai donates a portion of the proceeds to the Kauai Branch of the Hawaii Food Bank.
Exotic Fruit Farm
Ride a train reminiscent of the plantation era through a working fruit orchard. Disembark and feed sheep, goats and wild pigs. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the orchard, and pick tropical fruit from the tree. Learn how to harvest sugar cane and see how pineapple is grown. We conclude this portion of our tour seated in the center of the plantation while watching our guide Kaimana demonstrate how to cut exotic fruit and sample what’s in season!
Kauai Marriott Resort
Savor the flavors of Kauai with a scrumptious four-course lunch cooked just for you by executive chef Guy Higa. Chat with chef Guy as he prepares Kauai grown ingredients, including some from his own garden, ask questions and learn cooking techniques used by professional chefs. Enjoy your island meal on the garden court, and taste the best of Kauai. Chef Higa donates proceeds to the Salvation Army.

Kaneshiro Farms Crispy Pork Belly Plantation Style
Kauai Shrimp, Wailua Herb Butter and Fresh Pasta
Kauai Coffee Expresso Cheesecake with Poha Berry Sauce
Locally Made Beverages
Meet local beverage makers and drink island-inspired cocktails that are handcrafted by two of Kauai’s best bartenders. Tours may change based on what’s new and in season, but here’s what we have scheduled for 2014:
This tour’s final stop is at The Feral Pig, our favorite neighborhood pub. Dave Power, one of Hawaii’s best bartenders and co owner of The Pig (as we affectionately call it), will make a seasonal cocktail as well as one based on your individual taste.
We conclude this tour oceanside at Oasis on the Beach, an east side farm to table restaurant. Koloa Rum Co. will begin with a presentation of the locally made, small batch, award-winning rum. Mixologist Joel Downs with make two cocktails with Koloa Rum and fresh, local ingredients.
Price is $140 per person and advanced reservations are required. Special arrangements have been made for Tasting Kauai so that we can offer this tour for a low price. We do not offer any discounts. Tasting Kauai is happy to accommodate Japanese visitors. Please call 808-635-0257.
Because of the nature of our tour, we are unable to accommodate special food requests. We do not provide transportation, so everyone must follow us in their car. Tours are based on seasons and explore what’s new on Kauai. Descriptions provided here may change, but the spirit of the tour will not.
Space is limited.
